Basic Knowledge of Molded Process

September 13, 2024
1. Main Process Parameters and Control Formula: This refers to the material solution used during the molding process, including the proportion of various chemical substances. The formula determines the texture, slip, color, etc., of the fabric surface after molding.

- Roller Pressure: The pressure of the roller during material application affects the amount of material on the fabric, significantly impacting its texture and color.

- Heating Temperature: The heating temperature during the molding process is one of the main factors affecting the quality of the molding, particularly in resin finishing processes. The molding heating temperature has a significant impact on the dimensional stability and surface smoothness of the fabric. For softening treatments, the heating temperature should be controlled until the fabric is dry, and it should not be too high to avoid affecting the fabric's texture.

- Overfeeding: The size of overfeeding directly affects the warp density of the fabric, thereby influencing the shrinkage performance of the fabric. It also helps maintain appropriate tension during fabric production to prevent wrinkles.

- Width of Tensioning: The width of the tensioning determines the width of the fabric after molding, ensuring that the width of the fabric after molding meets the required standard. This ensures that the fabric, after pre-shrinking, meets the customer's requirements for width.

2. Analysis of Thermal Setting Process Conditions

Fabric thermal setting is a process that maintains the fabric's size at specific temperature and humidity conditions, followed by heating for a certain period and then cooling. Consequently, the primary conditions for thermal setting essentially encompass temperature, duration, tension, and swelling agents.

- Temperature: This refers to the heat level applied during the setting process. It significantly influences the physical properties of the fabric such as shrinkage, softness, and dimensional stability.

- Duration: The time for which the fabric is exposed to the set temperature is critical. It affects the extent of chemical reactions, relaxation of stresses, and overall setting effectiveness.

- Tension: Applying tension on the fabric during setting can help in achieving more uniform properties and can prevent unwanted distortions or wrinkles.

- Swelling Agents: These are substances added to the setting bath to enhance the setting effect. They can include water, steam, or other solvents that facilitate the setting process by increasing the fabric's moisture content or by chemically interacting with the fibers.

Understanding and optimizing these conditions is crucial for achieving the desired fabric characteristics in terms of appearance, texture, and performance.
